The European Parkinson’s Disease Association’s growing international team and their digital systems needed to be centralised, and cloud based technology provided a solution.

As the leading voice for Parkinson’s in Europe, they provide information and resources to all Parkinson’s stakeholders, raise awareness of the disease’s complexities and impact, and advocate for concrete policy change that benefits the Parkinson’s community.

Situation

The EPDA has a growing international team and their digital systems needed to be centralised.  There was a need for a cloud based platform that fast, easy access to email and documents, no matter where they are and they chose Gmail for its combination of intuitive tools and low-key maintenance by IT.

Approach

The approach we took was by doing research into the needs of the team and into different office suites. After we piloted using the chosen suite. The EPDA adopted other Google Workspace tools such as Google Meet, Google Slides and Sheets to share class presentations and lesson plans. The big driver for choosing Google was that Gmail was reliable, always on and intuitive for people to use with straight forward migration with on-site help desks,

Result

The result of the project was more centralised system and more effective collaboration within the organisation. The approach reduced duplication of work and saved timed and money.
